Fostering Devotion

“Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us”.
– St Alphonsus Liguori

The Holy Eucharist

The Church’s beating heart

The Blessed Sacrament is the greatest gift Our Lord left to us at the Last Supper. Since its institution, the Eucharist has been the source and summit of our Catholic life. It is the mission of the Shrine and the Sodality to help spread the joy of this great Sacrament to the secular world around us.

What We Do

Adoration

Members of the Sodality spends hours each year praying before the Blessed Sacrament. At the Shrine there is daily Exposition, and each year around the Solemnity of Corpus Christi we host the traditional Quarant’Ore Devotions.

Catechesis

Each month we host a Sodality Mass – usually on the first Thursday. A different guest preacher provides some reflections and teachings on a different aspect of the Blessed Sacrament to help deepen our understanding of this great Sacrament

Community

The Sodality is made up of members from all over the world – from Australia to the United States, to Colombia and South Africa. In spite of the physical distance, they are all united in prayer around the same Lord.

Quotes

From the Hierarchy

May this Shrine to the Most Blessed Sacrament, not least through its Sodality, enrich the life of faith in our time and bring to many the joy and consolation of the Lord’s presence, so that we may all come to know and praise his beauty, with all our brothers and sisters, in the life to come.

His Eminence, Vincent Cardinal Nichols
Archbishop of Westminster

It is a source of great joy for me to visit for the first time Corpus Christi Church, Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament, built in reparation for sins committed against the Holy Eucharist. Knowledge and love of our Eucharistic Lord is the heart of our faith and of the life of faith.

His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke
Prefect Emeritus of the Apostolic Signatura
